From fuckyeahfanficflamingo on tumblr: http://fuckyeahfanficflamingo.tumblr.com/post/20007423592/favourite-author-leaves-fandom

I did this once with a fanvid. It was an early one, full of fail, and I just wanted it to go away and never have anyone see it again. Then someone emailed me asking about it and saying how sad they were that it wasn't available anymore, and suddenly I felt like a jerk.

I gave this thing to the fandom community to enjoy (or not as the case may be). Then I get a case of nerves/ego and say "Oh, wait!" and take it away. I disappointed someone by taking away something that they enjoyed.

So, yeah, I put the vid back up and since have never removed any fanwork I've published anywhere. If there's a particular piece I don't want anyone new to see (and there are several *cringe*) I just don't port them over to new archives or link them anywhere else. The original url remains valid, though, for anyone who happened to like it.

Everyone says that fandom is a gift economy. If that's true then snatching away a gift after it's been given seems like a kind of dodgy thing to do.

How freaking gorgeous is this?
Some screenshots of the upcoming expansion World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria.

I'm riding a glowing purple dragon; your argument is invalid.

Why, yes, the world is on the back of a giant turtle.

I can't wait. XD

"You can't walk on that," says Erik, annoyed. "A cab would be overkill," Charles explains finally, "I only live three blocks away. Worst comes to worst, I can hop that far," and that's so ridiculous that Charles completely deserves the alternate solution that Erik insists upon.
